Amy Putens

After working along side London’s top hair stylists, Antoinette Beenders and Bruno Elorriooroz, Amy has returned back to her roots in DC! Her fourteen years in the hair industry has provided a wealth of knowledge and experience. After her time spent in the UK, Amy joined the Davines Education team which allowed her the opportunity to travel and find new inspiration at every turn. While Amy has an extreme liking for men’s grooming she is equally as enchanted by the beautiful, bouncy and transformable locks of women. As a stylist at the Studio, Amy is looking to elevate her career by becoming involved in more editorial and event styling along with embracing all forms of education to enhance her portfolio and clients needs.

Max Charnley

Having grown up with eight siblings, Max Charnley discovered his passion for hair as a young boy creating ‘unique’ hairstyles for his three sisters. While pursuing a degree in illustration and graphic design at VCU, Max launched his professional hair career as an apprentice at Mango Salon shadowing Bumble & Bumble, Aveda, and Vidal Sassoon educators. After three years working behind the chair at Mango Salon, Max searched for an opportunity to take his career to the next level. In October 2014, Max moved to DC and joined the Ian McCabe Studio team. His amazing talents as a stylist coupled with his strong attention to detail and hair artistry make him a unique asset to the studio.

Tim Felton

Tim Felton joins Ian McCabe Studio’s Union Market styling team with more than 20 years of experience, bringing his own unapologetic artistry of grit and style to the chair. Tapping his out-of-the-box techniques and detail-oriented eye, the Graham Webb graduate has mastered cuts that take clients from day-to-day to old Hollywood glamour, classic vintage charm or a little bit of edge. Tim has had the opportunity to work with renowned hair brands including Toni&Guy. When he’s not at the salon, Tim is a lifelong musician and drummer of a local rock band, and currently resides in Northern Virginia.

Brendan Rabak

Brendan isn’t just a stylist by trade – a passion for hair runs through his blood with half a dozen family members hailing from the hairdressing world. Even his grandmother styled the Capitals hair in the 60s. He got an early start, assisting during his summers in high school. After graduating from Graham Webb Academy, he spent a three-year apprenticeship at Immortal Beloved. This experience instilled in him an intense work ethic and keen visual eye. He trained future apprentices at that salon; one of his strongest philosophies and a lesson he teaches every styling apprentice is that every piece he cuts must serve a purpose. At Ian McCabe Studio, Brendan values a light-hearted and trusting relationship with every client. For him, a haircut is so much more. It’s an experience. It’s a luxury. It’s essential to looking and feeling your best. Brendan’s signature leans toward soft, moveable shapes with a strong perimeter. “When people tell me what they want, I can figure out what they mean right off the bat. I know how to detail it so the grow out is seamless.” Brendan uses music to feed his creativity and goes to a variety of shows in his spare time featuring EDM, grunge and hip hop.
